Brow Tattooing
COMING SOON....
WHAT IS BROW TATTOOING?
Brow tattooing is a procedure in which we deposit ink into the skin to create the ideal, long-lasting brow shape for our client. This can be done either by microblading or using a tattoo gun/machine. We apply numbing cream* at your appointment before we begin, so there is very minimal to no pain at all. We then map-out and pre-draw your brows tailored to your facial structure, which is done with precise measurements. Pigments are custom mixed depending on each individual's skin tone and hair colour. Brow tattoos can last anywhere between 6 months to 4 years - most lasting at least 1-2 years. This is dependent on lifestyle, skin type, age, health and aftercare. Brow tattooing is a minimum 2-step process (meaning two seperate appointments), and your 5-6 week touch-up is just as important as the first. The healing process and most of the aftercare will be done in the first 7 days after getting your brows tattooed, but keep in mind that your brows will not be fully healed until the 5-6 week mark.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST order and pre-purchase your own numbing cream for your appointment. You will be sent an email upon booking with instructions on how to do so. Failure to do this will result in a cancelled appointment and you will be turned away.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING, OMBRE/POWDER, AND COMBINATION BROW TATTOOING?
MICROBLADING is done using a small blade to create tiny hair-like cuts into the skin under your brow hairs, and ink is deposited into these cuts. Once healed, microbladed brows will look very natural, as if you just grew a whole lot of brow hair in the perfect placement. Unfortunately this technique does not last as long as others, and is not suitable for those with normal-oily skin, as it will prematurely fade. Microblading can only be done a maximum of two times on a client's brows, as any more than this will create blurred/blob like hair strokes and will start to appear very blocky. Most clients with microbladed brows will eventually have to convert to ombre/powder, unless they get a removal done. (EDEN ISABEL DOES NOT CURRENTLY OFFER MICROBLADING)
OMBRE/POWDER is done using a tattoo gun/machine, just like when you get a normal body tattoo. Most of the colour is saturated in the tail and bottom line of the brow, and is seamlessly blended towards the top and front of the brow, with the very front of the brow being the lightest part. Once healed, this will appear as a seamless fade from front to tail, and can look as if you have filled in your brow with a brow pencil or powder. Perfect for all skin types and typically lasts the longest out of all options.
COMBINATION is done using both techniques. Typically a combination brow will be done using the microblading technique at the front of the brow to create hair strokes, and follows on with the ombre/powder brow technique for the rest of the brow. This is for clients that have sparseness at the front of their brow, and desire the look of natural hair strokes, as well as a filled in brow.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR BROW TATTOO:
- Make sure you have pre-purchased your numbing cream (instructions are emailed to you once you have booked in)

- Avoid exfoliants, retinols, AHA's and active ingredients on the area for 7 days prior

- DO NOT get your brows waxed or threaded before the appointment, so that we have the maximum amount of hair growth to work with
- DO NOT consume alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before your appointment
- Discontinue use of any blood thinners or fish oil at least 10 days before your appointment

AFTERCARE TIPS:
- DO NOT panic during your 4-6 week healing process. Your brows will change day to day so patience is key
- Do not expect your brow tattoo to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a minimum 2-step process and the touch-up appointment is just as important as the first. 20-80% of fading is common
- A headache and tenderness in the area is normal for around 12-14 hours, you may take Panadol (at your discretion) to alleviate this
- Once healed (5-6 weeks), ensure you're always applying SPF 50+ to protect the brow area and prevent fading
- Use the brow shield provided if you need to wash your hair within the first 7 days of healing
- Avoiding things like sun exposure, tanning beds, chemical exfoliants, laser or IPL, retinols, AHA'S and active ingredients on the brow area even once the brows have healed will prevent fading
- You CANNOT donate blood for 6 months following any cosmetic tattoo procedure
